Does any one know the solutions of waterproofing and lightening the basement?  I have been facing a couple of problem with it and finding the solution to solve it. As the building I am living is the very old building it will be hard to replace or repair the ground basement. The water I found in the basement is during winter when there I lots of snow outside. Summer I do not have problem at all. Winter cost me lots of money for heater as I think window are not airtight.

To fix the first problem I found the crack on the window well covers foundation that help water leaking. I try to install new basement well covers including with the foundation well and work really great. The new basement well cover I have chosen was glass well covers that provide extra light for the basement. That has function to make airtight by locking down the well so that it was safe in winter.
